History Showboat's Bio
Loads of laughter…superb
athletic abilities…fun
family entertainment…that’s what the world famous
Harlem RoadKings are bringing to audiences around the world
with their outstanding show. Led by the gifted “ShowBoat” Robinson,
the Harlem RoadKings combined the traditional, unpredictable
fun of Globetrotter-style” comedy basketball with a unique
school education program that addresses the many risk factors
that affect youth today. Their primary goal is to encourage
kids to work hard, stay in school, and avoid drugs and alcohol.
During the 2007-2008 season the Harlem RoadKings will be performing
an expanded schedule of over 50 games that will take them around
the USA and across the globe. “An important aspect of
our tour is that we’re bringing this unique form of entertainment
to cities and towns that haven’t had an opportunity to
see it before”, says Robinson. “We plan to visit
cities in the rural areas of Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Georgia”.
Most importantly, each game benefits either
a local charity or a school program – “which is
a real plus for each and every community where we play. I feel
it is important to leave something of value behind for the
people who come out to support us”, “ShowBoat” explains.
It’s time for the fun, laughs, thrills,
and skills of the world’s most recognizable basketball
team, the Harlem RoadKings. Make sure that you are among the
million of fans that have enjoyed the Harlem RoadKings over
their 50 plus years of athletic entertainment. The Harlem RoadKings
have been featured in national publications such as: USA Today,
Basketball Digest, and Sports Spectrum magazines.
The legendary “ShowBoat” Robinson, future
Hall of Fame Comedy King of basketball will at times wear #36
in honor of his childhood hero and mentor, former Harlem Globetrotter,
Meadowlark Lemon. Demonio, “half-man, half-amazing” Dukes,
who has a 44-inch vertical leap, is also a spectacular slam-dunk
artist. Former Harlem all-star, dribbling king, Terrell "Lord
Have Mercy" Jones, will remind fans of Harlem Globetrotter’s
legendary, Curly Neal. At times the Harlem RoadKings will take
on their rivals, the New York Stars. (View
